Welcome to the first in a new series of posts in which we look back at iconic pieces of work from Phosphor Artists. Although we pride ourselves in seeking out and supporting emerging artists, we also still have a number of artists on our books who have been with us from the beginning – legendary artists such as Bob Wilson, Dave Hopkins and Jon Rogers.
As it was St Patrick’s Day earlier this week it seems appropriate to start off with this Guinness Extra Cold Campaign by Jon Rogers, commissioned by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO. The series featured a number of cool objects reimagined as pints of Guinness Extra Cold – a desk fan, fridge-freezer, fire bucket, nipple, iceberg and lolly, beautifully put together by Jon. The minimalistic ads proved very popular and won a number of awards in the year 2000, including the Cannes Lions Press Silver, The Augustus Martin Award for Best Use of Illustration at the Campaign Poster Advertising Awards, Silver at Clio and a D&AD Yellow Pencil.
