Christopher Nielsen’s vintage images have been used by wineries, zoos, radio stations and fish mongers from around the globe. His scratchy surfaces and itchy characters are inspired by retro design and advertising from various cultures. He works from a beautiful old warehouse studio and when he’s not illustrating he’s working on fine art projects, teaching illustration, playing in his band The Ramalamas and spending time with his young family.
Christopher’s work has been acknowledged by 3×3, Communication Arts, American Illustration, Society Of Illustrators NY, Luerzers Archive and The Creative Annual. He has received Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the Illustrators Australia Awards. Most recently Christopher's children's book Balloon to the Moon (written by Gill Arbuthnott and published by Big Picture Books) won the Children’s 8-12 category at the British Book Design and Production Awards.
