We represented Sue back in our Soho days when she was a pioneering illustrator. Her work appeared in Spare Rib, Gay News and other ground-breaking publications, as well as illustrating the works of literary giants like Margaret Attwood and John Mortimer. Her impressive subsequent international career has embraced her twin loves of fashion and educating. Until 2018 she was Senior lecturer in Fashion Illustration at the London College of Fashion, and still visits to help bring on the next generation of artists.
For some years, Sue has captured London & Paris Fashion Weeks live, backstage and from the front row. She was also the first artist in residence at Fashion Scout, painting at her easel on the runway during shows, jostling with press photographers.
She has presented live at the flagship Apple Stores in London and New York. Her event clients include Andrew Logan’s Alternative Miss World, the Absolutely Fabulous movie première, Pam Hogg and Vivienne Westwood. (You can spot Sue drawing backstage in the 2018 film Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist.) She’s also appeared at Tate Britain and the Courtauld Gallery.
Sue is fascinated by capturing live, what she sees and feels in the moment. The signature textures and bright, contrasting colours of her work are as distinctive as her flamboyant personal style. Sue’s an experienced organiser and host whose presence creates an event within an event, making her participation perfect for live streaming.
